Michelle Gumabao posed nude in a photoshoot

Oh my gosh! Would you believe this guys, Michelle Gumabao got proud of posing nude for sports store's ad campaign?  Yes! the UAAP  MVP  awardee La Salle Lady Spiker Michelle Theresa Imperial Gumabao surprisingly posed naked in a photoshoot.  A lot of people not only  here in the Philippines but also Filipinos outside the country are a bit shocked for this news. To think that her father  is a pastor,  permitted her to have this nude photoshoot for sports store Toby' s.  Although in her interview with Ginger Conejero,  she admitted that before this was taken, she was doubtful at first  to take on the concept. She anticipated that her father who is a pastor, might raise some concerns.

"My concern was really my dad. He's a pastor and I come from a Christian family,"
"I said, 'Papa, ito ipapakita sa shoot, this will be plastered on the walls of Toby's,' and he said, 'You know, it's okay, because it's very wholesome,'" she said.

Having said that, this still got different perception, impression, judgement, viewpoint  or whatever it is called  from diffrent people nationwide and even in social media, some really appreciate this as an art though some are not.

The photos, which were unveiled early this week during a press conference, show Gumabao in action shots as if in a volleyball match. In one photo, she appears to be completely naked with splashes of water concealing parts of her body.

Michelle said  “It depends naman on how the photographer takes it, and how you look in the picture. It doesn’t mean na you’re not wearing anything, bold star ka na. It’s not like that. It’s very artistic, what Toby’s did, and I’m very proud to be part of it",  in addition to this, she also said that  the nude and wet pictorial, taken by Jojit Lorenzo, reflects her advocacy for youth and women empowerment.

" First of all is youth empowerment, focusing on women. Because women have less opportunities n our culture and in our industry, and with sports, it's one step closer to being known as or to be considered strong," she said.
